Georgian names usually ends:
- -shvili: which means "child of..." (historical eastern Georgia) - Amirani Papinashvili
- -dze: which means "son of..." (historical western Georgia) - Irakli Tsirikidze
- -uri or -uli: this end is typical for eastern highlanders from Kavkaz (Tusheti, Khevsureti for example) - Zurabi Zviadauri
- -ani: this end is typical for Svani peoples (western highlanders from Kavkaz) - Varlami Liparteliani
- -ia or -ua or -ava: these ends are typical for Samegrelo region close to Abkhazia and Svaneti - Giorgi Zantaraia
- -shi: this end is typical for people who now mostly live in Turkey (old territory of Georgian Kingdom) and Batumi region - Beka Tugushi
Note to say about Georgian first names is the fact that male names in 90% ends -i or -a. It's the nominative case.
For example name Avtandili is trancripted as Avtandil (probably because of Russians) but it's like you would call him "Avtandil, come here!" etc. Correct is Avtandili. Of corse georgian people prefer saying Avto or any other nicname which has nothing with his real name. Nobody except officials will say Avtandili.
