He was born in Reutlingen what is city in region Württemberg with capital city Stuttgart.

He was searching his place in national team for long time. Till 2004 he was in shadow of other German Middleweighters like [[Florian Wanner]] who was number one Half-Middleweighter in beginning of century.

In 2004 he started at European Championships at age of 25. This was his first big tournament and very important for his future career. Bischof knows himself very good. He knows where he is strong, very strong. It's on the ground. His offensive ne-waza is deadly for his opponents and there are just few of them who can defend him on the ground. His other big advantage is mental power. He is charismatic, level-headed and mentally balanced. He stays calm when he is losing by points and never give up till it's end.
