Republic of China (Taiwan)

  • Taiwan is a island in Asia where old Chines goverment run away before communists in 1949.
  • Only U.S. influnce prevent island before invasion of Chines.
  • Since that Taiwan became part of many organizations (OSN, IOC, etc.).
  • This was changed in beginning of '70 when in 1971 Taiwan were excluded from OSN.
  • Year later in 1972 USA declared Taiwan as part of China.
  • Taiwan became problem for sport in '70 becase IOC and sporting unions recognised Taiwan as sovereign country but goverments of the most countries aggried that Taiwan as part of China and they won't accept Taiwanes flag and anathem during sports events.
  • Outcome of this problem came in november 1979 when China agreed that Taiwan can participate sports events but under the new flag and name 22px-Flag of Chinese Taipei for Olympic games.svg.png Chines Taipei.
