- He was big favourite for olympic games 1996 but unfortunately he came late for weigh procedure so he could not start. Problem was in comunication between Georgian Olympic Team and jury.
- After Atlanta 1996 he was still frustrated and quit with judo. Later he came back as Sambo player and won two times world title.
