• He was big favourite for olympic games 1996 but unfortunately he came late for weigh-in procedure so he could not start. Problem was in comunication between Georgian Olympic Team and jury.
• After Atlanta 1996 he was still frustrated and quit with judo.
• Later he came back as Sambo player and won world championships two times.
