He was born in Jihlava what is city in central Czech republic.
His older brother Michal is also judoka.
He lives and train in Prague.
Career and Style
Krpálek is tall athletic judo player. His judo skills are not very good at the moment. He likes fighting on the ground (ne-waza) where he wins almost all matches and with years he has better and better ashi-waza. He has strong work ethic and he works on his judo so one day there is chance to see nice nage-waza made by him. His weak part is his height (198). He is about 15cm taller than his opponents in Half-Heavyweight and they are easily throwing (seoi-nagi etc.) him if they have the skills.
In 2012 he had troubles with his back but injury was not such serious that he had to miss 2012 London Olympic Games where he took nice 7th place.
