Bio

His father Ricardo is from Surinam and he represented his country in judo at OG in Montreal 1976.

His younger brother Dex is also elite judoka.

Career and Style

European judo this is what characterize this smart judo player. He has very good judo technic but he use it only when he is sure that he will score otherwise he is hidden in defens and under tactic. All this come from his excelent kumikata. He knows how to grip. His tactical leading of matches is also his weak part because golden score for him is so usual. This mean he is tired in final matches and hardly win the gold medal. He must learn how to risk but i think it's too late for him.

His career is influenced by injuries. Since 2008 he is very often limited by some kind of hurts. Before 2012 Olympic Games in London he suffered shoulder injury and he could not well prepared for the games. He lost in first match by yusei-gachi (desicion).

Since 2009 he fights in middleweight category (-90kg)
