Bio

He was born in Vanier what is suburb of city Québec.

He is from judo family.

He lives and train in Montreal.

One of his trainer is Nicolas Gill.

Career and Style

Valois-Fortier is specific half-middleweighter. He is very tall for this category. This mean that he is not powerful judoka. He has very good ashi-waza and sutemiwaza. He has excelent moves and that's why is hard to catch (grip) him. This is his big advantage.

In 2012 London Olympic Games he upset almost everybody only Nifontov found the way how to get closer to him and catch him. All his opponents were favourit for medal and in repechage he showed more will than other defeated. By winning bronze medal he became the most unexpected medal holder of the tournament.
