Bio
He was born in Tomsk region but as little boy he moved to Tuapse where he started with judo when he was 10.
He later moved and trained in Chelyabinsk. His trainer was Aleksandr Miller.
After retirement he became judo trainer. He was coaching Russian judokas during their fights at 2012 London Olympics.
Career and Style
Makarov had great psychical attributies and impressive ashi-waza (uchi-mata).
His olympic final match in 2004 Athens OG was one of the best match of the tournament.
