- Since 2000 he was national trainer of Greece judo team.
- He was born and raised in a small Greek community in Georgia.
- In 1993 because of economy crisis he moved with his family to their old homeland Greece.
- In Greece Nikos Iliadis found with his brothers Merab and Grigor a judo club in his new hometown.
- His adopted son is judoka Ilias Iliadis (1986).
