Bio

He was born in Kutaisi what is second biggest city in Georgia.

Career and Style

In beginning of his career he was in shadow of other judoplayers and his first big experience with big tournament was in 2005.

Since 2007 he became number one for Middleweight category in Georgian judo team.

After winning Olympic gold medal in 2008 he decided move in Half-Heaweight category.

In 2011 after Tokyo Grand Slam he was positive tested for stimulant drug and he was banned for 3 months.<ref>http://www.news.az/articles/georgia/55035</ref>

Tsirekidze has different judo style than most of other Georgian judokas. It's more westeuropean style based on very good moves and tactical direction of match. He is very strong ne-waza and he likes leg technics like kouchu-gari. His another strong part is mental power. He is very charismatic, strong person.

He is missing only European title to become grand slam holder.
