Bio

At age of 7 he moved with his family from Armenia to Russian Kavkaz republic Adygea. His father was football coach.

He lives in Armavir, Krasnodar.

His coach is Oleg Romanov

Career and Style

Galstyan's talent was well known from his youths.

The biggest moment of his career came in 2012 London Olympics where he won gold medal. He had easy draw in first rounds. In semifinal he upset Rishad Sabirov and in final Hiraoki Hiraoka who were top favorites for gold medal.

As judoka he has everything what extralighweight must have. Fast moves in combination with technical skill and enough strengh. He is not the strongest, the fastest and the best technical judoka in the category but he combines all this attributies together in very hight rank. He practise smart judo. He knows weak parts of his opponents and he is waiting for contras.
