- He was first Brazilian judo champion.
- He fighted mainly in era when was only openweight category and although he wasn't heavyweight he represented Brazil in big tournaments.
- He could not well prepared for 1972 Olympic Games in Munich because that year he was finishing University studies.
- He retired in 1973.
- Till his death he was one of the most respected judo trainer in Brazil.
