Career and Style
It isn't big surprirse that he begun with sambo at first and later tried judo. His judo style was sambo or maybe call it wrestling judo? Anyway he is first great Latvian judoka till independece of Latvia (1991).
He did not qualify in Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games.
He unfortunately had never won gold medal in major tournament.
