− | Huizinga is probably the most complete European judo player in history. He was very strong in nage-waza and ne-waza. His offensive judo was deadly for his opponents. Only way how to defend his attacs were deep defense and judokas who were good in it could beat him and bet him. His only weaker part was tactics. He was searching perfection and his judo looked like it. When opponents made something diffrent what he did not suppose he was hesitated. | + | Huizinga is probably the most complete European judo player in history. During his long and very succesful career he missed only one thing. World Championships title. There are some reason why he did not win gold medal. First was Cuban judo player Yosvany Despaigne. In 2003 he had troubles with injuries and he was not well prepared for Championships. In 2005 and 2007 he was already thirty year old man. Very experienced judo player but against younger judo players with lower physical attributies. | During his long and very succesful career he missed only one thing. World Championships title. He had as almost every judo player troubles with knees. He tore ligaments in 1996, 2003 and in 2006 at European Championships during semifinal match.
In 2007 he missed after 13 years for first time European Championships. He concetrated all his power for World Championships but that year was not happy for him. He had some personal problems.
His last big tournament were Olympic Games in Beijing were he had really hard draw. His first two opponents were European judo gigants. At age of 35 he bet only one of them.
