Bio

He was born in Petah Tikva what is city near Tel-Aviv.

Everybody calls him Arik.

He begun with judo at age of 7.

He is married and has 2 children.

Career and Style

Zeevi was nice stylish judoka. He has very good te-waza (seoi-nagi) and ashi-waza (kouchi-gari). He was fast enough for heavyweight category and he has very good moves. He is a laid-back guy and this is probably his weak part. His determination for win is questionable. He smiled when he win and he smiled when he lost. He was not aggresive fighter.

He was a matador (old hand) of judo competitions. No one had more attends in European Championships (16) then he and he is also the oldest winner of gold medal (35y).

During his long career he had to miss only two big tournaments because of injuries. Before 2005 World Championships he had injury of shoulder and before 2007 World Championships he tore ligaments in elbow<ref>http://www.haaretz.com/print-edition/sports/judo-ze-evi-begins-physical-therapy-but-will-miss-championships-1.227927</ref>.

Unfortunately he was unintentionally instrument of policy. Because he is citizen of Israel some sportsmen from Islamic world refused to fight with him.
