He was born in Higashihiroshima what is city near Hiroshima.
His younger brother Yuki is also judoka.
He lives and trains in Tsukuba what is city near to Tokyo.
Career and Style
Nishiyama is nice stylish judo player. He has powerful grips, excelent ashi-waza and also pickups what is not very usual for Japan judokas.
Nishiyama's nightmare is called Iliadis's goshi-waza. He don't have defense against it yet and this was probably the main reason why Japan Judo Federation did not nominated him for 2012 London Olympic Games. Before the games he was the best ranked Japan but JJF sent his namesake Masashi Nishiyama.
