Career and Style
Liparteliani was big talent of Georgian judo. He won all big junior championships and in his first senior season 2009 he became immediately number one in middleweight category in Georgian judo team.
He showed his talent after winning silver medal at homes 2009 European Championships and next year he defend silver medal again.
Soon it was clear where are his strong parts and where his weak parts. He somehow stayed junior in senior age. He makes very often stupid tactical mistakes.
Liparteliani is very nice stylish judo player with fast moves, powerful grips and very good ashi-waza and pick-ups but his defense is not good. He knows it of corse but his opponents provoke him to be offensive and his mind is that kind of. He can't stay in defense for long time.
In 2012 London Olympic Games he represented Georgia in Middleweight category. Two previous Olympiads in this category were won by Georgians and he was under big pressure. He felt this pressure very strong and this was cause why he failed. He lost his second match against Australian judoka with his typical mistake. He was trying to throw Athony but this guy with French judo school throw him in contra.
