Bio

He was born in Placetas what is small city 300km east from Havana.

Career and Style

González began his career in Half-Middleweight category (-81kg) and when he was just 19 he got big opportunity represent Cuba at Olympic Games in Beijing 2008. There was only small detail. He had to fight in Middleweight category (-90kg). This chance came by unknown reason<ref>If you know it please leave me message tyytoo@gmail.com</ref> (probably injury) why Cuban Olympic Committee did not nominate Jorge Benavide who gained Olympic ticket.

He lost both of his matches in 2008 Beijing Olympiade but this experience ment lot for him because he has slowly improved his judo skills.

His real enter into big judo is dated by season 2010 where he moved permanently in Middleweight category.

From 2011 he had to be counted as dangerous for his opponents. In World Championships he lost only match against D. Nishiyama by accumulated penalties (2x).

In 2012 he won silver olympic medal in 2012 London Olympic Games. His silver was not surprise althought there were bigger names in his pool. Especially he upset Denisov in semifinal match with impresive speedy tai-otoshi.

González is powerful and determinated judoka. He has very good kumi-kata and moves. To that he has very good timing and good technique of judo (Ashi-waza and Te-waza). His attacks from defense are deadly for opponents.
